An article that caught my eye…

My life over the last five months has changed in so many ways… I feel others can benefit from my experiences so I decided to tell my story…

On one particular catch up Friday this year, June’s Writing Magazine dropped onto the doormat and I was drawn somehow to opening that copy (instead of doing what I always do and placing it on the stack of old ones) waiting for that quieter time to open, read and catch up.  I never knew that this was going to be the start of something big; something that would open so many doors for me.

It was just after lunch, and I had put down the phone to my life coach Helen Jeffery (Inner Rhythms) remembering one of the actions that was set, which was ‘to give myself permission to read my magazines’.  I glanced over to my Writing Magazine that had arrived earlier that day – something on the page I had left it open on, caught my eye:  “Inspirational tales wanted by new self-help publisher”.  After excitedly scan-reading the article by Tina Jackson, I learnt that a company called OpenLeaf Publishing were looking for people who had written about their inspirational experiences and wished to share them with others.  My book, that I had almost finished writing, entitled ‘A gift for stressed and busy parents’ would be just what they are looking for, I thought to myself.

I immediately rang the number listed and left a message.  I was pleasantly surprised when the founder of OpenLeaf himself called me, and asked me to send him a synopsis and the first few chapters.  That should have been the extent of the excitement, but I never expected what was to follow in the rest of that conversation and in further communications.

Don’t forget to sign up… next instalment tomorrow, so until then hope you have a great day too!

By the way if you know others who would enjoy this, please let them know, especially if they are looking for answers as to how to get so much more out of life?

I love this! Like you, I have piles of magazines I mean to look at but never have time. These magazines are quite varied and range from business to pensions with allsorts in between.

In a recent pension publication, I came across an article encouraging members to invest in ‘Emerging Markets (EM)’. As a trustee to a work scheme, this encouraged the inclusion of a new EM fund for members! It’s great what an occasional glance at mags can do!

Thanks for taking the time to comment Diane. It’s great to know that other people have been inspired by magazines too. You never know how the next one you pick up is going to benefit you…
      Thanks again
